La Plata, MD – Police in Charles confirmed Monday morning, April 6 that a portion of Marshalls Corner Road was closed overnight due to a downed power pole. A spokesman at the Maryland State Police Barrack in La Plata told The Bay Net that a vehicle crashed into the pole sometime around 9 p.m. Sunday, April 5. No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle was charged with driving under the influence.
Marshalls Corner Road was closed in both directions between Lakeview Drive and Windsor Drive for approximately six hours while the power pole was replaced by utility crews.
