LUSBY, Md. — Emergency crews responded Tuesday night to a vehicle fire that shut down part of a busy intersection in Lusby.

The call came in around 8:55 p.m. Jan. 6, 2026, at the intersection of Solomons Island Road and Nursery Road, just south of White Sands Drive. Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames in the roadway.

Crews quickly deployed a 1½-inch bumper line to knock down the fire, with additional firefighters arriving shortly afterward to assist in bringing the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
