WALDORF, Md. — Emergency crews responded late Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into the Waldorf Church of Christ, trapping the driver and causing structural damage to the building.
The incident was reported at approximately 11:53 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2026, at 30 Village St. in Waldorf. Initial dispatch information indicated a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle into a building.
Units arriving on scene confirmed the vehicle had struck the structure and that the driver was trapped inside. Firefighters began extrication operations, using tools to remove a door and free the driver.
Emergency communications indicated structural damage to the building, prompting contact with county building inspectors. Crews performed temporary shoring to stabilize the affected area of the church while operations continued.
The driver was extricated shortly after noon and placed in the care of EMS personnel. According to dispatch updates, the patient was conscious, alert and breathing at the time of removal. The individual was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
A “working incident” alert was issued during the response, bringing additional units to the scene as crews secured the structure and ensured there were no additional hazards.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
