UPDATE April 19 12:45 p.m.
Dameron, MD – State investigators report a 2006 Dodger that was stolen was set on fire early Wednesday morning, April 19 in St. Maryโ€™s County. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the incident on St. Jeromeโ€™s Neck Road in Damaeron was reported at approximately 4:33 a.m. by a passing motorist. The vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Charger, sustained $5,000 damage. No injuries were reported.

โ€œThe vehicle was discovered abandoned off the road and was completely destroyed by the fire,โ€ a deputy fire marshal reported. โ€œThe vehicle fire also resulted in a large woods fire adjacent to the road. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office earlier on the morning of the fire.โ€

Twenty firefighters brought the flames under control in one hour. Investigators determined the fire was set inside the vehicle. No arrests have been made at this time.

Dameron MDย  April 19, 4:35 AM. — A motor vehicle accident has been reported on St. Jeromes Neck Road.

The initial reports came in as a vehicle that was off the road and on fire, upon arrival first responders located a vehicle heavily involved with fire which has transferred to a wooded area.

The officers on the scene indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen.
