
Lexington Park, MD – One person was rescued from a vehicle that crashed into a wooded area of a St. Mary’s County subdivision Wednesday evening, Nov. 2. The crash resulted in a fire. The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Castaway Circle in the Riverbay subdivision in Lexington Park. Reports from the scene indicate bystanders pulled a motorist out of the vehicle. The injured person was transported to an area hospital.
Police have not released a report on their investigation into the incident at this time. According to St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jennifer Stone, the investigation of the incident is being handled by the agency’s Patrol Division. The accident investigator is Dfc. James McGuire.ย

That person has been transported to an area hospital.ย
Crews are still at the scene and are reportedly dealing with leaked fuel from the vehicle. The fire is reportedly out. Due to the presence of responders and the potentially hazardous spillage, motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
