The Calvert County Commission for Women, Calvert Public Library, and community organizations are hosting two free workshops featuring officials from the Social Security Administration to discuss what the public needs to know about Social Security and when to file for Medicare health benefits.

In 2017, nearly 67 million Americans received Social Security benefits as retired workers, surviving spouses, disabled individuals or dependents. Participants also will learn how to access online services of the federal government agency. Members of the public are encouraged to bring a copy of their Social Security statement to the sessions. Individual statements are available online at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
