Jehovahโ€™s Witnesses in are inviting all in Southern Maryland to attend a program focusing on a government that millions, perhaps billions, pray for. Godโ€™s Kingdom government, which is requested in the world-famous model prayer taught by Jesus Christ, will be the focus of the 2011 โ€œLet Godโ€™s Kingdom Come!โ€ District Convention to be held at Richmond Coliseum.

Jehovahโ€™s Witnesses believe that the request for Godโ€™s Kingdom in the model prayer, recorded in the Bible at Matthewย 6:10 (also known as the Lordโ€™s Prayer or the Our Father), has profound meaning. They also believe that the answer to that prayer will bring significant changes to the earth and mankind. The Witnessesโ€™ convention program promises intriguing details from the Bibleโ€™s explanation of such developments.

Starting this weekend, and continuing for the next three weeks, Jehovahโ€™s Witnesses will put forth extra effort to extend a personal invitation to everyone from Accokeek, Bryans Road, Callaway, Cheltenham and Hughesville to attend the convention with them. The three-day event to be held in Richmond will begin Friday, July 22nd at 9:20ย a.m. The daily themes are based on passages of Scripture including Matthewย 4:17, Matthewย 6:33, and 2ย Peterย 1:11. Strengthening oneโ€™s faith in the reality of that Kingdom will be the focus of the program. There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovahโ€™s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations. ย

Five Southern Maryland congregations of Jehovahโ€™s Witnesses will be supporting the activity of distributing printed invitations to the convention. An estimated 10,000 will come to Richmond Coliseum that weekend for the Bible-based programs.

Throughout the United States, there will be 381 conventions in 98 cities. Worldwide, there are over 7,500,000 Witnesses in more than 107,000 congregations.
