William David Chism, Jr., of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away on April 12, 2026. Born on November 15, 1960, in Kleberg County, Texas, he was the son of Nancy Loretta Chism and the late William David Chism, Sr.
Dave proudly served in the United States Navy and built a life defined by hard work and dedication through his career as a carpenter. He was known as a good friend to many, a man who valued loyalty and connection, and someone who never shied away from putting in an honest day’s work. Above all, he loved his family deeply and found joy in the time he spent with them. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and relaxing with a good beer here and there.
He is survived by his sons, William Chism III, of Bryans Road, Maryland, and Phillip Chism, of Washington, D.C.; his mother, Nancy Loretta Chism, of Mechanicsville, Maryland; his brother, Chris Chism (Norman), of Charlotte Hall, Maryland; his sister, Nikki Hall (Terry), of Wallace, North Carolina; his niece and Goddaughter Taylor Jones (Blake) of California, MD, and his grandchildren, William, Kenneth, Ryan, and Hendrixx Chism.
Dave’s legacy of love, faith, hard work, and friendship will live on in all who knew him.
