The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all of Southern Maryland, which remains in effect until 10 p.m., this evening Dec. 31.
A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 MPH or gusts above 45 MPH are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Expect crosswinds on North South roadways and on highway overpasses.
In addition, residents should bring indoors or secure any loose objects that may be outside, such as garbage cans or holiday decorations.
