
LEONARDTOWN, Md. – A 29-year-old woman was airlifted to MedStar Washington Hospital Center on January 28, 2025, after suffering severe burn injuries in an electrocution incident.
St. Mary’s County fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 43000 block of Megan Lane around 1:00 p.m., responding to reports of an individual injured by electrical contact. Upon arrival, emergency medical services found the woman with serious burns on her hand, prompting immediate evaluation.
Due to the severity of her injuries, EMS personnel requested a MEDEVAC.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 7, arrived and airlifted the woman to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for advanced care.
The circumstances leading to the incident were not immediately clear, and no further details about her condition were available at the time of this report.
