Dfc. James Maguire received a theft complaint from victim, female from Leonardtown on Feb. 25.
The victim had been contacted by her bank informing her of debit fraud against her MasterCard check card account. The victim’s MasterCard was used, without her permission, several times on Feb. 24 at various locations in California and Lexington Park.
Some of the locations included: Lowes, Best Buy and Target, 2000 Liquors and Big Lots.
Bank records provided the exact dates, times and locations of the transactions.
Through video surveillance recordings, provided by the cooperating businesses, Dfc. Maguire was able to identify the suspect as Sheila Juanita Somerville, 32 of Leonardtown.
Dfc. Maguire completed and application for a Statement of Charges against Sheila Somerville. An arrest warrant was issued charging Sheila Somerville with seven counts of theft and one count of theft scheme. On March 19, Sheila Somerville was arrested on the warrant.
