On May 27, Deputies responded to a residence on Mohawk Court in Charlotte Hall, for a report of a home invasion and armed robbery.
The alleged victim, Brandy Sue Harper, 29 of Charlotte Hall, reported a male, dressed in hunting clothing and a ski mask, knocked on the door of her residence, displayed a shotgun and forced his way into the residence. Harper then stated the male stole her purse which contained a bottle of Oxycodone and fled the residence.
Numerous law enforcement personnel responded to the scene along with a St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office canine team. An extensive search of the area was conducted. Further investigation revealed Harper fabricated the story and had in fact not been robbed.
Harper was arrested and charged with making a false report of a crime.
