Woman Injured After Lawnmower Collides With Vehicle In Callaway

CALLAWAY, Md. — A woman operating a riding lawnmower was injured Thursday afternoon after reportedly striking a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck along Piney Point Road near Lady Lane.

The collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2025, when first responders arrived to find the damaged mower in the roadway and one lane of traffic partially blocked. Vehicles were stopped on both sides as crews worked the scene.

Witnesses reported the truck had been traveling about 55 to 60 mph before the impact. The woman reportedly remained on the mower for a brief moment before being thrown onto the pavement.

EMS treated her on scene for lacerations to the head and hands before transporting her to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
