Lexington Park, MD— On May 22, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mushchette responded to the area of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the report of a domestic assault.ย 

Contact was made with the victim who advised, “she was in a verbal argument at Carefree Way in Great Mills with the defendant because she applied for a protective order against him,” according to charging documents.ย 

The victimย then advised that the defendant, identified as Harold E. Williams, 46 of Lexington Park struck her with a closed fist in the face and pushed her to the ground.

The victimย also advised she was able to flee the residence with herย child who was present during the assault.ย 

The victimย displayed visible signs of injury to her face andย her right arm. Mushchette arrested and transportedย Williams to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Williams was charged with second-degree assault.ย 

Williams has a scheduled hearing set for July 21 in Districtย Court. Williams faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
