Haley M. Simmons
Hollywood, MD— On June 26, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Schultz responded to Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood for a reported assault.
When Schultz arrived on the scene, he made contact with a witness and a victim. The victim advised he and his live-in girlfriend of two years were in a physical altercation. The defendant was identified as Haley M. Simmons, 18, of Hollywood.
Schultz then made contact with the victim who advised, “He and Simmons were in a verbal argument during which she struck him in the neck one time,” according to charging documents.
Schultz noticed redness on the left side of the victim’s neck which he advised was a result of being struck by Simmons.
Simmons was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where she was charged with second-degree assault .
Simmons at this time does not have a scheduled court date. Simmons faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.
