The annual St. Maryโ€™s College of Marylandย World Carnival comes to town Saturday, April 18, from noon to 5 p.m., bringing food and fun for the whole family.ย  Admission is free and the event is open to the public.ย  The activities will take place on the collegeโ€™s admissions field on Fisher Road off Route 5. This yearโ€™s carnival will feature an inflatable obstacle course, tie-dying activities, henna tattooing, caricature drawing, and exciting demonstrations from the chemistry department.ย  Local vendors will serve roasted nuts, gyros, popcorn, as well as a variety of multicultural foods.ย  SMCM club performances by the Dance Club, Take 1 Improv, the Gospel Choir, the Step Team, and the co-ed a capella group Interchorus will take place throughout the day.ย 

World Carnival, the Collegeโ€™s largest student-organized event, has become an important tradition to the St. Maryโ€™s community and is the best-attended event on the College campus. Its purpose is to celebrate multiculturalism and diversity through campus bands, visiting artists, and a variety of local food and craft vendors.
