On April 10,between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Traffic Safety Driving under the Influence saturation patrol in the Mechanicsville and Charlotte Hall Area of St. Mary’s County.
During the operation six citations and nine warnings were issued for speeding, two warnings were issued for seatbelt violations and two warnings were issued for other traffic related violations.
Traffic Safety DUI patrols are funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a continuing effort to promote safe driving and detection of drivers operating motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol.
