Thousands of area residents flocked to All American Harley Davison in Hughesville on Saturday, despite teeming rain, to take part in the grand opening celebration.

There were deals and sales featured across the huge showroom, scores of Harleyโ€™s on display, face painting, balloon creations and other activities.

During the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the store had a constant stream of hundreds of visitors, taking in the sights, joining the numerous raffles and enjoying a free barbeque.

One of the highlights of the event was free performance by rising Nashville star Austin Cody and the Crossroads Connections Band.

Cody, a native of Clinton, hit the scene in 2004 and on Saturday performed some of his song and covered popular country hits, all while donning an All American Harley Davison jacket.

Owner Don Smolinski recently moved the dealership from Mechanicsville to Hughesville, to accommodate the gigantic showroom and service center.

The company employs about 130 people.
