PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Connecticut woman is facing multiple felony charges after a criminal summons was issued in late April in connection with an identity theft and fraud case in Calvert County.
Tiaisa Shamek Renee Stanley, 34, of Stamford, Connecticut, was charged following an investigation into an incident that occurred on December 16, 2024, in Prince Frederick.
According to charging documents, the case began when a Calvert County resident reported suspicious activity involving a vehicle insurance policy taken out in her name without consent. Investigators determined the policy was connected to a 2021 Mercedes-Benz and listed the victim as the insured party.
Authorities allege Stanley knowingly used the victim’s personal identifying information to obtain insurance coverage and avoid payment of a financial obligation, resulting in a loss valued between $1,500 and $25,000.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle had ties to addresses in both New York and Connecticut, and records indicated Stanley had previously been associated with the vehicle and related transactions.
Investigators also noted that Stanley had prior access to the victim’s personal information, which was allegedly used to carry out the fraudulent activity.
Court records show a criminal summons was issued on April 24, 2026.
Stanley is charged with multiple felony counts related to identity theft and fraud involving amounts between $1,500 and $25,000.
A hearing is set for June 8, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
