On Friday January 27, 2012 seven brave St. Mary’s County Correctional Officers and/or Deputies will brave the cold and participate with other law enforcement and corrections personnel in the 16th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge for Maryland Special Olympics.

Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers will “plunge” on Friday.  The general public is invited to participate and plunge on Saturday, January 28, 2012.  Last year over 25,000 plungers and spectators participated in the public plunge.

The Polar Bear Plunge has kept Marylanders cool since 1997.  “This years Polar Bear Plunge promises all the chills and thrills that Plungers have come to know and love.”  The Plunge has raised over $1,184,000.00 for Maryland Special Olympics.

Anyone wishing to sponsor these heroic officers is asked to go to http://www.policeplunge.kintera.org  and type in any of the following officers names:
