
CALIFORNIA, Md. – A pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in St. Mary’s County.
The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. on February 7, 2025 at the intersection of Wildewood Boulevard and White Oak Parkway, prompting a response from local fire and rescue crews.
First responders arrived to find a 62-year-old male pedestrian injured in the roadway. EMS assessed the severity of his condition and requested a MEDEVAC for rapid transport.
The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Airport, where Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter was standing by. He was then flown to a regional medical center for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
