
SEVERNA PARK, Md. — A 70-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed Friday evening in Severna Park.
The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, around 6:50 p.m., near the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Whites Road. Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2018 Mazda SUV was traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway when it struck the pedestrian, identified as Barry Stephen White of Gwynn Oak, Maryland. White was pronounced dead at the scene by the fire department.
The driver of the Mazda, Da’Von Tawain Bell, 27, of Annapolis, Maryland, was not injured.
Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section is investigating the crash.
