POINT LOOKOUT, Md. — We have received multiple reports that someone caught an “8-foot bull shark” in the area of Point Lookout State Park on July 20.

After speaking with someone who posted a picture of the shark on his personal profile, he recounted what he had been told about the shark.

He described how someone he knew brought in the shark which had previously been swimming with skates in the water. He believed that the shark had been caught in a net in the water down there, and he was unsure if the shark was alive when they brought it in.

The person we spoke to informed us that the shark was gutted soon after, and taken back to the freezer of the man who caught it for storage.

We are working to confirm the identity of the person who caught the shark. We will provide updates when they become available.
