GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A 51-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon after striking a transit bus on Ritchie Highway at Holsum Way.
Anne Arundel County police and emergency personnel responded at approximately noon July 24, 2026, to the crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford E450 transit bus.
A preliminary investigation found that the bus was turning left from southbound Ritchie Highway onto Holsum Way on a green signal when a Suzuki motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed struck the side of the bus.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries. The motorcyclist’s name was not immediately released, pending notification of family.
The 39-year-old woman driving the bus was not injured. No passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team processed the scene and is handling the investigation.
