The Maryland Wineries Association and the Historic Sotterley Plantation in Hollywood, Maryland are coming together to celebrate the best of Maryland at the Riverside WineFest. Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting, live music and great food on October 1 and 2 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sotterley Plantation in Hollywood, Maryland.
“Despite the challenges created by the recent hurricane, we are thrilled to host the 9th annual Riverside WineFest at Sotterley where we will once again Celebrate the Best of Maryland!” said Nancy Easterling, Executive Director of Historic Sotterley. “It is a fabulous way to invite visitors to our beautiful National Historic Landmark, and to share the bounty of not only our state wineries but the regional and local cuisine, musical talent, and artisans for which our area is known.”
Admission will allow guests to taste wines from over 20 local vineyards, view exhibits and demonstrations, purchase goods from local artisans and artists, and listen to live jazz, blues and rock music.
“The Riverside WineFest at Sotterley is a great way for Southern Maryland to keep acquainted with the ever growing Maryland wine industry” said Frank Cleary Jr., of Fridays Creek Winery. “The wines, the wonderful view of the Patuxent River, the local food and the history of the Sotterley Plantation make this festival one to look forward to.”
“Sotterley’s Riverside Winefest not only showcases Maryland’s great wines, it brings out the best in what’s fresh and local in St. Mary’s County and showcases it in a truly spectacular historic setting” said Carolyn Laray, St. Mary’s County Tourism Manager.
