HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — Cyclists from across the region will gather in Calvert County for the 16th Annual Bike to End Hunger event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Chesapeake Church, 6201 Solomons Island Road, Huntingtown. The charity ride will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with multiple scenic routes available for riders of all skill levels.

Organized to raise awareness and support for hunger relief across Southern Maryland, the ride benefits Community Harvest Network, formerly known as End Hunger in Calvert County. The nonprofit supports 52 local feeding organizations and school backpack programs throughout the region.

Cyclists will traverse some of Southern Maryland’s most picturesque areas, including bay-front views, marinas, farmland and wineries. Participants can choose from a 16-mile New Rider Group Ride, a 38-mile loop or longer options of 50 miles and 63-mile metric century rides. All routes are fully supported with rest stops, safety patrols and refreshments.

The ride concludes with a post-ride picnic featuring music, food and community celebration at the “Difference Makers” finish line. Coffee will be available at the start, and each rest stop along the route is stocked with refreshments and staffed by cheering volunteers.

Riders and supporters are raising funds to help fight food insecurity, with contributions continuing to grow ahead of the event. Registration remains open, and individuals are encouraged to join or donate through the event’s registration portal.

According to the Maryland Food Bank, more than 35,000 residents in Southern Maryland experience food insecurity. Events like Bike to End Hunger aim to provide vital resources, including food and household items, to those in need.

Parking is available onsite, and carpooling is encouraged. Riders may register online or by submitting a paper form and waiver by mail or email. Merchandise, including the annual event jersey, is available for purchase during registration or in limited quantities on-site.
