HUGHESVILLE, Md. — Two people were injured in a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon in Hughesville, prompting a significant emergency response, including a medical helicopter.

The incident occurred around 2:54 p.m. on April 7, 2026, in the area of Leonardtown Road and Old Leonardtown Road.

Initial callers reported a vehicle rollover with a possibly unconscious individual, leading to a rapid response from fire and EMS personnel and a request for a helicopter.

Crews arrived to find a single vehicle overturned in the roadway. Emergency personnel evaluated two patients at the scene and worked to stabilize their conditions.

A 45-year-old man was flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 2 helicopter to Baltimore Shock Trauma with serious injuries.

A second patient, a 24-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted as crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
