CHARLES COUNTY, Md. – This is to advise that Commissioner President Reuben B. Collins, II, Esq. ordered the Charles County flag to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset on April 18, 2026 to honor Jennifer Reginald, who served as Marketing Coordinator with the Economic Development Department.
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jennifer Reginald, who served as Marketing Coordinator with the Economic Development Department. Jennifer passed away on April 4, 2026, leaving behind a lasting impact on our team and the work we do here at Charles County.
She was a proud Charles County resident and throughout her 11 years dedicated to public service, she took tremendous pride in her work spotlighting the many local business owners here in her community. Her dedication, warmth and compassion for her colleagues will be profoundly missed.
Born July 19, 1974, Jennifer was a woman of deep faith, professional dedication, and musical grace. Her spirit shone brightest at Calvary Gospel Church, where she shared her musical gifts in the choir and as a flutist.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, Nelson; their sons, Jacob (UMD) and Lucas (North Point High School); her parents, Mark, and Rita Dierdorff; her sisters, Sarah Bump and Melissa Dorsett; and her extended family in Canada.
Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Jennifer will be laid to rest at the same venue where she and Nelson wed.
