
FORESTVILLE, Md. โ Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle crash in which one person died late this morning in Prince Georgeโs County
At approximately 11 a.m. on April 20, troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to the area of southbound MD 202 south of Campus Way in Largo, Md. on a report of a crash involving a dump truck and a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the dump truck, an 85-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene by Prince Georgeโs County EMS personnel. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the tractor-trailer, John Rejhm, 58, of Waldorf, Md., was transported to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center for treatment of his injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of the dump truck was traveling southbound on MD 202. At the same time, the tractor-trailer was stopped at a traffic signal on southbound MD 202 south of Campus Way. According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of the dump truck collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer at the traffic signal. The dump truck driver was trapped inside the cab of the truck after the crash.
Southbound MD 202 remains closed at this time. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
