Friday at the St. Mary’s County Fair is traditionally a day for the kids. With schools out and free admission until 5 p.m. the fair is usually busy and this year with perfect weather it was especially busy. The carnival grounds, of course, were packed. But there were activities all around the fairgrounds, including a number of 4-H activities displaying animal husbandry and craft skills.

Attendees were also treated to regularly-scheduled pig races and a kiddy tractor pull. Meanwhile parents had a chance to check out the exhibits and the food vendors.

The fair continues Saturday and Sunday with the parade on Saturday along with the popular 4-H livestock auction. Sunday is Family Day with several groups performing gospel music.
