On March 12, The Lifestyles of Maryland, Inc. Youth Council presented information to the Commissioners on the Charles County “Adopt-a-Spot Program.
The program, conceptualized by the Youth Council teens, is similar to the County’s Adopt-a-Road program, but instead offers individuals and organizations the opportunity to “adopt” recreational areas at local schools and community centers.
Commissioner President Wayne Cooper praised the youth for turning their ideas into action. Sheriff Rex Coffey and Mr. Charles Wineland of Charles County Public Schools, also voiced their support for the program.
