Since launching in March 2023, the Huntingtown-based business has served homes and businesses across Calvert, Anne Arundel, and Prince George’s counties. Unlike many larger cleaning companies, Shannon performs all services herself, a choice that has become a major draw for new and returning clients.
“That’s what people love,” Shannon said. “They ask, ‘Are we getting you, or are we going to be getting some random crew?’ And I say, ‘Oh no, you’re going to get me,’ and they just light up.”
Before starting the company, Shannon spent years cleaning on the side while raising a family. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and worked for another cleaning company, where she and Lance realized they could create a better, more client-focused service of their own.
Their attention to detail often extends beyond the job description.
“We’re a dog family, so my wife has a huge connection with all the animals at all her clients’ houses,” Lance said. “They get excited when they know she’s coming. They know her by name, and she brings treats… and if the customers are gone, she lets them out, plays with them, and even gives them water. Pets adore her attention.”
One client—a family relocating from Florida—hired A Cleaner You, LLC before ever setting foot in Maryland, relying solely on online reviews and a phone conversation.
“They hired us sight unseen, just based on reviews online and a discussion,” Lance said. “It was a huge deep clean, a whole-day operation. The house looked amazing, smelled amazing, and he was tickled pink.”
That client is now a regular customer.
