LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Superintendent of Schools, Dr. J. Scott Smith, announces the administrative appointment made by the Board of Education at its meeting of February 26, 2025.
The Board appointed Dr. Joseph R. Beavers as Deputy Superintendent of Schools in the Office of the Superintendent.
Dr. Beavers holds a Doctorate Degree from Nova Southeastern University, a Master’s Degree from Western Maryland College, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowie State University. Dr. Beavers currently serves as the Acting Deputy Superintendent in the Office of the Superintendent.
Dr. Beavers’ appointment will become effective March 3, 2025.
The Board of Education was informed of the following Administrative Transfer:
Ms. Lindsay Brenfleck will transfer from Principal at Lettie Marshall Dent Elementary School to Supervisor of Human Resources in the Department of Human Resources.
Ms. Brenfleck’s transfer will be effective March 10, 2025.
