ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. — The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking assistance from the public after an unmanned kayak was discovered adrift in the St. Mary’s River near Fort Point, raising concerns about a potential missing person.
According to authorities, the Coast Guard was notified around noon on Saturday by a local fisherman who found the green “Aruba” kayak. Items found inside included oysters, a cell phone, and a hat—indications that the vessel had been recently occupied.
The vessel was secured and transported by law enforcement officers with the assistance of a police marine unit. Officials have not yet linked the kayak to any ongoing missing persons cases but are urging anyone with information to contact the Maryland National Capital Region (NCR) Command Center at 410-576-2693.
No additional identifying materials or safety gear were reported with the kayak at the time of its discovery.
This is a developing situation. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Maybe use the cell phone and call some of his/her contacts.
