Calling all gurus and travelers, cooks and swimmers:ย the Charles County Department of Community Services has released its 2007 Fall Guide chock full of activities for every family member.ย The guide details hundreds of classes and workshops at each of the community centers.ย
New this year are SCUBA diving classes at the Lackey High School pool.ย There are, however, enough classes and workshops beyond SCUBA diving to interest just about any citizen.
If you are looking for something to keep your teen occupied there is the Teen Club at Nanjemoy Community Center and Teen Night at Stoddert Community Center.
The county has even put together three rather impressive trips for those who like to travel, including a ten-day trip to Ireland touring the Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle.
If you prefer something a bit closer to home, then swing by participating community centers for a pick-up game of basketball.ย Or, you can sign up for ice skating or fitness classes.ย ย
The Guide also lists plenty of activities for toddlers and pre-school children.ย
If you prefer a paper version of the guide you can stop by a library or ask your childโs school if they have any on hand.ย You may even already have one in your kitchen.ย Many of the schools have already sent copies home with their students.
