The July 21 crowd at the All-American Rejects concert carried on despite the heavy rain.

St. Leonard, MD – True professionals never let a little rain stop them from getting their jobs done. Then you have the case of the talented Alt-Rock band the All-American Rejects. They didn’t let a whole lot of rain—more rain than the region has seen in one day this year—stop them from giving fans a show they will always remember. Like the volunteers the performance supported AAR cranked it up and delivered. The group, which was formed nearly 20 years ago in Oklahoma, headlined the July 21 outdoor concert at Bayside Toyota Pavilion on the grounds of the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department (Company 7).

The group took the stage around 8:30 p.m. as the rain was intensifying. Hours earlier, fans from as far away as Northern Virginia frantically posted on Company 7’s Facebook page wanting to know if the trip to St. Leonard would be worth it or if the deluge would cancel the event.

Vocalist Tyson Jay Ritter labeled the evening “the pain in the rain” and thanked the vociferous, poncho-clad crowd for hanging in and not bailing.

Company 7’s next outdoor concert is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 17 with headliner Billy Currington and special guests Locash. The music begins at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the live shows aids Company 7’s fire, rescue and emergency medical services.
