Arrest in southern Maryland

HANOVER, Md. — Anne Arundel County police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery was reported Friday night in Hanover.

Officers were called to the 7500 block of Ridge Road around 7:45 p.m. January 2, 2026, after a man reported being robbed while using an ATM. The suspect reportedly approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The victim turned over money, and the suspect ran from the area.

A search involving patrol officers and a K-9 unit was conducted, but police were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s who was wearing a black face mask, a black puffer-style jacket and dark-colored pants.

The case is being handled by Western District detectives. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-222-8760. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at 410-222-4700.

  1. So dumb.. The ATM has way more money than the person using it. Next time demand money from the ATM. Show it the gun, let it see your face so it knows you’re serious.

  2. so, we can’t look up the address on the MD courts website, we have to have a suspects name\ case #? Why is the courts website set up so we can’t look stuff up by the address? We can’t help the criminal defense attorney that way. {in this case, the address would be 7500 block of Ridge Road}
