LA PLATA, Md. — La Plata Police Officers Make Felony Assault/Home Invasion Arrest: On February 4, 2022, at approximately 12:59 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Oak Avenue for the report of a home invasion.
Investigation revealed the involved individual shattered a glass basement door and entered the dwelling. Once inside the involved individual assaulted the victim. During the assault, the involved placed a knife to the victim’s neck threatening death.
The victim was able to escape and call for assistance. Arriving officers located the involved, placing him in custody without incident.
A knife was located on the individual’s person. The victim received minor injuries during the encounter. The suspect was transported to the Charles County Detention Center for processing and charging.
Officers determined the incident was not a random event.
