Maryland State Fire Marshals are investigating a case of arson in Charles County at a local state park.

Investigation revealed The Charles County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a car fire at the Friendship Landing State Park in Nanjemoy on Dec. 26 around 2:35 p.m., located at 3705 Friendship Landing Road in Nanjemoy after an unidentified citizen called 911. 

When the Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, they found a sedan vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The owner, make and model of the car have not been identified at this time.

Damage to the vehicle is estimated to be $6,000.00 The cause of the fire appears to be incendiary.
