On May 30, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cove Point Park in Lusby to check on the welfare of a child.
Upon arrival rescue squad personnel were assisting a juvenile female, from Lusby with her unresponsive 2-month-old male child. The child was with the female parent in the pool when it became unresponsive.
The child was flown by the Maryland State Police’s Trooper 2 helicopter to Children’s Hospital. The child was held for several hours for observation and then released to the female parent.
The child is uninjured and home with the family.
