
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department (BDVFD) officially inducted its newly elected and appointed officers for 2025 during its annual Installation of Officers ceremony on Nov. 15. The event celebrated leadership transitions while recognizing the department’s ongoing dedication to public service across Southern Maryland.
“The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department congratulates all newly elected and appointed officers and expresses gratitude for their continued commitment to excellence in service,” the department said in a press release. “These leaders play a vital role in ensuring that the department remains ready to respond to emergencies and uphold its mission of protecting lives and property.”

The 2025 executive officers include:
- Wayne Johnson – President
- James Driscoll – 1st Vice President
- Phil Sibley – 2nd Vice President
- Tom Eno – Secretary
- Andy Waikart – Treasurer
- Steve Stockwell – Special Account Treasurer
- Rick Redmond – Board Member at Large
- Bruce Theden – Board Member at Large
- R. Keith Fairfax – Chaplain
- Joe Zienda – Liaison
Operational leadership was also announced for the year ahead. The line officers, who oversee emergency response operations, are:
- Jason Turner – Fire Chief
- Ryan Lockrow – Assistant Fire Chief
- Steven Vanness – Deputy Fire Chief 3
- David Martoni – Deputy Fire Chief 9
- Tyler Wentworth – Captain 3
- Blake Tarleton – Captain 9
- Taylor Wahrenbrock – Lieutenant 3
- Jacob Clark – Lieutenant 9
Supporting the chain of command are the sergeants:
- Anthony Pensenstadler – SGT 3A
- John Carmonne – SGT 3B
- Ernesto Perez – SGT 3C
- Noah Rogers – SGT 9A
- Brandon Morris – SGT 9B
- Noah Santivasi – SGT 9C
The department’s safety division, focused on protecting personnel during operations and training, will be led by:
- Zak Werkhiser – Safety 3
- Jason Adams – Safety 9
David Dean will continue overseeing health, policy, and guidelines, while Brian Stritzel (WS 3) and Bruce Theden (WS 9) manage water supply coordination. Jason Adams also serves as both the Public Information Officer and Webmaster, facilitating community outreach and communication.
Training remains a departmental priority with leadership from:
- Rick Redmond – Training Officer of MFRI
- Jacob Clark – Training Officer of Department Drills
- Tyler Wentworth – Training Officer of Recruit Class/Training Center
Additional key support positions include:
- Noah Nicholson – Chief Engineer
- Danny Burroughs – SCBA Coordinator
- Hugo Bautista – Gear Coordinator
- John Carmonne – Uniform Coordinator
- Carter Boone – Vector Solutions Coordinator
- Brian Ticson – Driving Program Coordinator
Chaplain R. Keith Fairfax will continue providing support to department members and their families.
The department emphasized that these individuals will guide its continued mission to serve with “professionalism, skill, and care” in the year ahead.
