Biden Drops Out Of 2024 Presidential Race, Endorses Kamala Harris

WASHINGTON — In a surprising turn of events, President Joe Biden announced on Sunday, July 21, 2024, that he will end his presidential re-election campaign and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President, just four months before Election Day.

The announcement was made through a letter posted on social media, where Biden expressed his decision to focus on his duties as President for the remainder of his term.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”

Former President Donald Trump, who has been a vocal critic of Biden throughout his presidency, did not hold back in his response. In a statement, Trump said, “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t – And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists. We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Vice President Kamala Harris, upon accepting Biden’s endorsement, released a statement expressing her gratitude and commitment to the campaign ahead. “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country,” Harris said. “I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”

    1. Biden has been a great President and has had a terrific political career, spanning decades. Once again President Biden comes through for America, putting country over ego, and although he has endorsed Vice President Harris there will be an open process where the Democratic Party will select the next Leader of the United States. Let’s hope that the Republican Party will take this next landslide defeat (similar to that of 2020) as a wake-up call to rid themselves of the Right Wing extremists and pull themselves together.

      1. Name one thing President Biden did to put the United Sates citizens ahead of anyone else. You can’t. I can’t believe there a people this clueless.

  1. Great. Now can we have an honest conversation about the rambling old convicted felon and his fitness for office?

  2. Very tricky how the DNC did this just before the Convention where RFK Jr would have won in a landslide. They only want a puppet so they keep their current presidential powers in place.

    1. RFK Jr. is running as an independent… there are more than two options on your ballot, people!

  3. Haha, Cackling Kamala. Make it through one minute of her talking jimmerish without sense. Word salad

  4. DEI shoehorn. Too bad Democrats don’t have actual democracy where they can vote for their candidate. Should be a hilarios debate, much worse than Joe’s.

  5. thats not realistic, thats not realistic. Biden delegates, remember what you should be sympathetic and unsympathetic towards.

  6. JD Vance probably knows, do the rest of us know? Why part with Pence? Did Trump and Pence have a falling out and about what? Why isn’t Pence going at it a 2nd time, which is not to suggest he should. Its undisclosed.

  7. There are questions about whether Kamala is eligible. Citizenship questions. That should be resolved before things go further.

  8. Maybe this is anybodys game because the Biden delegates are no longer obligated. Maybe everybodys back in play. The delegates should not go along to get along, the delegates should not get with it. According to Ballotpedia, there were 10+ Democrat President candidates. 1 of the items of discussion among the delegates should be why the different candidates were on the ballot in different states. Maryland only had 3!

  9. was this his decision, or who talked him into it? Could we hear from the fly on the wall?

  10. they should they should I wonder if Free + Equal is going to be doing a debate among the VP candidates?

  11. It sounds like the delegates can support anybody now. What about super delegates? How have things changed for the super delegates? How influential will they be?

  12. This place right here is where to put what the delegates should know about Kamala — what they are getting into.

  13. the DNC / Democrat National Convention doesn’t begin until 8/ 19, so why does Yahoo news say that Kamala already has the nomination? No vote has taken place. Is the news trying to influence the delegates, again? Is the news trying to influence the election again? Is the news trying to get to the delegates and convince them not to support anyone else>? The headline is: Harris makes history, secures Democratic nomination for President.

  14. Kamala, please take your time finding a running mate. Whats the hurry/ whats the rush? You have until the middle of the month to choose 1. Having a short list is fine, its appropriate, but the decision shouldn’t be made until the middle of the month. Treat what has happened like an unplanned pregnancy. You have time, you don’t have to have all the answers right now.

  15. I’m going to go on the DNC website + expect to see what the choices are besides Kamala. Who are the choices? Who do the delegates have to choose from? We don’t have Kamala forced upon us, do we? Surely, the delegates have other choices + they can exercise them.

  16. Are we supposed to be satisfied? Only every 4 years they convene + solve the worlds problems + then adjourn? How about every 3 months instead of every 4 years. Every 4 years + then hold your peace, hold your peace for 4 years. Unless its a show, every 3 months. 4 years doesn’t cut it.
