Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday, a rider of a four-wheeled all terrain vehicle apparently flipped his vehicle when riding through a ditch near Spring Ridge Middle School.
Rescue personnel responded and loaded the rider into an ambulance and then the call was made to bring in the Trooper 7 helicopter to fly the seriously injured rider to a hospital.
Crowds of people from nearby residences and students and faculty who were inside the middle school gathered as the helicopter landed right in the school’s field to transport the rider.
