Update April 1. 11:14 a.m.
On March 31, 2016, at approximately 1:26 a.m., patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.
Initial investigation revealed, a Ford F150 operated by Timothy Hinson Baxley, age 38, of Lexington Park, was traveling northbound on Three Notch Road, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a building. Subsequently, the building occupied by Franzen Realtors Inc. caught fire. Text messaging appears to be the primary cause of the vehicle exiting the roadway.
The operator of the vehicle was transported via Maryland “Trooper 7” to Prince George’s Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Corporal Brandon Foor is the investigating officer and charges are pending.

Lexington Park, MD – An early morning fire destroyed a commercial building located just outside Patuxent Naval Air Station Friday, April 1. The fire erupted shortly before 2 a.m. after a truck ran off the road and crashed into the building. The driver of the vehicle was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Several fire companies responded to the scene and Route 235 was shut down for about three-and-a-half hours.
The commercial structure sustaining the heavy damage was the Franzen Bulding, whose tenants once included The BayNet.
Lexington Park, MD – Authorities in St. Mary’s County report a building fire on Route 235, caused when a vehicle crashed into the structure resulted in the closure of the road for several hours. The building is located just outside Patuxent Naval Air Station.
