LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Whether you’re channeling your inner Robin Hood or just looking for a new summer hobby, St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks is drawing back the bowstring for another exciting season of Archery Camp—and spots are already filling fast.
Designed for youth ages 9 to 17, the popular camp welcomes both beginners and intermediate archers for three sessions this summer: June 23-26, July 28-31, and August 11-14. Campers will sharpen more than just their aim—learning everything from basic form and shooting technique to the mental discipline that defines the sport.
“It’s a great way for kids to gain focus, confidence, and have a blast trying something different,” said one returning parent who credited the camp with helping their child discover a hidden passion for archery. “Plus, there’s nothing like watching them hit that first bullseye.”
Campers can also explore opportunities in competitive archery, including tournaments, all under the guidance of skilled instructors. Registration is now open at https://tinyurl.com/2tdatctf, and full details on all Recreation & Parks summer camps are available in The Scoop at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/scoop2025.
For registration questions, families can contact the R&P office at 301-475-4200 ext. 1800 or email webtrac@stmaryscountymd.gov.
