Burnt Marijuana Emitting from Vehicle Leads to Drug Arrest

On January 27, 2011 at 12:43 p.m., TFC M. J. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop on a blue Saturn in the area of Maryland Route 235, south of South Sandgates Road.

Upon making contact with the operator, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed CDS on the passenger, Ian Benjamin Millis, 27, of Waldorf.

Millis was arrested for Possession of CDS – Marijuana, and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Millis was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
