On Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Calvert Pines Senior Center in Prince Frederick, Calvert Artists’ Guild will hold their meeting at which time they will introduce the silk painting techniques of guest artist, Betty Leppin, beginning at 10 a.m.

That morning, CAG’s guest speaker will be artist Betty Leppin. Leppin will give a presentation on silk painting. The artist’s work is inspired by nature. She has been silk painting for five years and is an active member of Silk Painters International. What first started as a hobby has turned into Leppin’s full-time passion. She has attended several national workshops, learning traditional and non-traditional silk painting techniques from fellow artists. She makes hand painted silk scarves, pillows, sarongs, and quilts for family, friends and other special people. She also provides machine quilting services for fellow quilters at her Deale studio.
