During the week of September 30 – October 6 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,466 calls for service throughout the community.
Burglary: 19-57316
On October 1, 2019 Deputy Gilmore and Detective Cress responded to 27th Street in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised that sometime between 8:00 am and 12:10 pm an unknown suspect(s) broke into his home and stole various items, as well as damaged various items. The estimated value of stolen property is $2,360 and the value of damaged property is $480.

On October 1, 2019 Deputy Sturdivant responded to Old Town Road in Huntingtown for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime in the evening on September 30th an unknown suspect(s) knocked down their fence. The estimated value of damaged property is $100.

On October 1, 2019 Deputy Wilder responded to St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime between 5:00 pm on September 27th and 5:00 pm on September 28th an unknown suspects(s) vandilized two donation boxes on the property. The estimated value of damaged property is $150.

On October 2, 2019 Deputy Naughton responded to Hemlock Road in Lusby for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime between September 17th and September 25th an unknown suspect(s) damaged his rear sliding glass door and a non-sliding rear entrance door. The estimated value of damaged property is $240.

On October 2, 2019 Deputy Naughton responded to Cordova Drive in Lusby for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 6:00pm on September 29th and 10:00 am on September 30th an unknown suspect(s) attemped to break in to his vehicle leaving multiple dents and scratches. The estimated value of damaged property is $1,000.
Theft: 19-57059
On September 30, 2019 Deputy Deleon-Suero responded to the Sheriff’f Office for the report of a theft. The complainant advised that sometime between September 23rd and September 29th an unknown suspect(s) stole his prescribed medication from his safe.
Theft: 19-57275
On October 1, 2019 Deputy Wood responded to Safeway in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised that sometime between September 23rd and October 1st an unknown suspect(s) broke into the air pump machine and stole the money from inside. The estimated value of stolen property is $300 and the value of damaged property is $6,000.
Arrests:
On September 1, 2019 Deputy Parks responded to Bank of America in Prince Frederick for the report or a disordery subject. The complainant advised that the subject, Patricia Lynn Taylor (55), was walking through the middle of the parking lot, dropped her bank card and had fallen in the parking lot. Upon making contact with Taylor, Deputy Parks detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her breath and person. Taylor advised she had drank alchohol prior to driving to the bank. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with Intoxicated Public Disturbance.
On October 1, 2019 Deputy Savick conducted a traffic stop at Lower Marlboro Road and Southern Maryland Boulevard in Owings. The driver, James Eugene Stratchko (33), advised that he was under the influence of Gabapentin and Suboxone and was removed from the vehicle. Deputy Savick observed (12) green pills wrapped in cellophone in a white bag in plain view. Stratchko advised the pills were Xanax and were prescribed to him, however, he did not have the prescription with him. Stratchko was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and multiple traffic citations for driving under the influence.
On October 2, 2019 Deputy Sampson conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot at Chick-Fil-A in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival, the driver, Shane Benton Havens (24), entered the restaurant leaving his car running in the parking lot. After making contact with Havens inside the restaurant, Deptuy Sampson returned to the vehicle with Havens where he observed a clear plastic tear-off bag on the floor of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted which revealed (4) plastic tie-off bags and a search of Havens’ person revealed a cigarette pack containing a small baggie of (8) suspected Oxycodone pills. Havens was placed under arrrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and multiple traffic citations.
On October 4, 2019 Deputy Parks responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a disorderly subject. Throughout the encounter with deputies the subject, Eric Eugene Butler (38), was disorderly and resisted arrest. Butler was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Obstructing and Hindering, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest.
On October 6, 2019 Deputy Wilder responded to the Calvert County Detention Center for the report of a CDS violation. Upon arrival he was advised that Nicole Marie Fant (34) entered the jail concealing two small bags, one containing a strip labeled “Zubsolv” and one containing Adderall and Xanax. Fant was charged with Possessing CDS while Confined/Detained, CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.
