Car Overturns After Collision With Tractor-Trailer In Leonardtown; One Hospitalized

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Emergency personnel responded to a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer in Leonardtown.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 5:51 a.m. Feb. 2, 2026, to the intersection of Clarks Rest Road and Point Lookout Road following reports of a car colliding with an 18-wheeler. When responders arrived, they found one vehicle overturned after striking the side of a semi truck.

One patient was evaluated at the scene; no injuries were reported.

Units remained on scene for about 20 minutes before clearing the incident and returning to service.

The crash remains under investigation.

  1. Watch out for those tractor trailers… they’ll jump outta nowhere!

  2. Maybe the driver of the 4-wheeler was speeding or talking on the phone or the tractor trailer pulled out in front of the 4-wheeler? The area where the accident happened is well known for speeders, talking on the phone and accidents. People need to pay full time and attention to driving. 4-wheelers & tractor trailers & dump trucks.
