
Bryans Road, MD โ Early Christmas morning someone traveling through Bryans Road in Charles County saw a blazing car before them. Now, state investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the incident occurred Thursday morning, Dec. 25 at approximately 2:45 a.m. at Catchpenny Place and Billingsley Road. The vehicle was a 2013 Hyundai Sonata owned by Andre Wittington.
โThe incendiary fire was ignited in the front passenger compartment of the vehicle causing approximately $10,000 in damage,โ Dfm. Melissa Decker stated. โThere were no injuries as a result of the fire.โ
Five firefighters from Bryans Road were dispatched to the scene of the one-alarm blaze and brought the flames under control in one minute.
The Charles County Sheriffโs Office assisted in the investigation.
