Bryans Road, MD โ€“ Early Christmas morning someone traveling through Bryans Road in Charles County saw a blazing car before them. Now, state investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the incident occurred Thursday morning, Dec. 25 at approximately 2:45 a.m. at Catchpenny Place and Billingsley Road. The vehicle was a 2013 Hyundai Sonata owned by Andre Wittington.

โ€œThe incendiary fire was ignited in the front passenger compartment of the vehicle causing approximately $10,000 in damage,โ€ Dfm. Melissa Decker stated. โ€œThere were no injuries as a result of the fire.โ€

Five firefighters from Bryans Road were dispatched to the scene of the one-alarm blaze and brought the flames under control in one minute.

The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office assisted in the investigation.
